About Us

Founded in December 2008, the Social Event Music Organization is a music ensemble consisting of talented middle and high school students interested in sharing their passion for music. Also known as SEMO, our group volunteers at nursery homes, graduations, and other various special events, practicing regularly throughout the year and performing music pieces accordingly. Having begun with merely four members, SEMO has expanded considerably with young musicians from all over LA. With our focus on outreach, we hope to utilize music to do good and engage with our community.

We are continuing to expand with more members and we are excited about SEMO’s future, especially in regards to our new partnership with KAWA — the Korean American Women's Association. With generous support from KAWA, SEMO hopes to further share our love for music with the rest of the Los Angeles community!

The Social Event Music Organization is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, and donations made to the organization are deductible as provided by the US Tax Code.
